I’ve been writing for a very long time, poems, blogs, stories. Writing has always been something deeply dear and personal to me. And thus most of it has remained confined to diaries or my personal blog, away from public scrutiny and access.
The itch
There’s a specific feeling that shows up right before I decide I want to make a few of them public: the constraint of vulnerability. I believe a piece of writing belongs as much to the reader as it does to the writer, and it’s both our loss if we don’t share the candid, raw, unpolished version. Otherwise, what’s the point, you know?
But the internet is also a very scary place, and so I keep returning to the same conflict: publish or don’t publish. I go back and forth.
Now, though, I feel like I might be ready to put a few pieces out there for public reading, scrutiny, and opinion. I will surely customize them for this space. I don’t know yet. Lol.
